Get a head start on scholarships for college! C-CAP highly recommends
the following scholarship opportunities for high school students. More
information and applications for these scholarships can be found on
the websites listed below.
Dunkin’ Donuts Scholarship
Due Date: March 15 or April 15 (depends on location)
Amount: $1,000
Description: Must live near a participating Dunkin' Donuts Franchise.
Recipients selected on the basis of "well-rounded" character: positive
academic record, demonstrated leadership, commitment to school and
community activities, and experience in a work environment.

College Jumpstart Scholarship
Due Date: April 15
Amount: $250 - $1,500 each
Description: The scholarship is open to 10th-12th graders, college
students and non-traditional students. The main requirement is that
you are committed to going to school and can express your goals for
getting a higher education. Financial need is not considered.

Society for Foodservice Management Merit Scholarship for High
School Seniors
Due Date: April 15, 2011
Amount: $2,000 each
Description: The Foundation will award a $2,000 scholarship to six
deserving high school seniors who are dedicated to a future career in
on-site foodservice. Students must have a 2.75 cumulative GPA on a
4.0 scale (equivalent to an 82.5 cumulative average). Applicants must
be accepted to culinary school and must submit a letter of
recommendation on letterhead from a current or previous employer.

Western Union Foundation Family Scholarship Program
Due Date: April 21
Amount: Not listed
Description: The Family Scholarship Program is helping
immigrant/migrant fathers and sons, mothers and daughters and
brothers and sisters move up the economic development ladder
through education. Scholarships are used for college tuition, language
acquisition, technical training and GED classes, with two family
members receiving a scholarship to help achieve the type of education
they need in order to create a brighter future for their entire family.
Applicants must have been in the United States for 7 years or less.
Both applicants must have been born outside of the United States.

Healthy Lifestyles Scholarship

Amount: $5,000
Description: Open to high school seniors and first-year college
students. You must submit a maximum 1000-word essay on the
following topic: "Why is a healthy lifestyle important in school?"; and
in under 500 words, describe your career plans, goals, and personal
ambitions.

American Culinary Federation (ACF) Culinary Institute of
America Scholarship
Due Date: May 1
Amount: $2,500 per year for up to for years
Description: Must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher. Must be
accepted to the Culinary Institute of America’s Culinary Arts or Baking
and Pastry program.

Freshman Scholarships

James Beard Foundation Scholarships
Due Date: May 15
Amount: Varies
Description: James Beard Foundation offers two types of awards: (1)
Friends of James Beard Scholarships and (2) scholarships to attend a
specific school (includes CIA, ICE, Le Cordon Bleu, NECI and more).
Students may apply for up to three (3) Friends of James Beard
Scholarships. Review eligibility requirements carefully. Applicants must
meet the requirements as specified to be considered for a particular
award.
